I am not normal. When asked to describe me, 10 out of 10 friends will reply, Melanie, you just have to know her. I am proud to be unique. I am highly motivated and very directionless. I feel sometimes that if I only had the map, I could do anything!
My family thinks I am nuts. They think I should worry more about “succeeding” in my family and business than worry about things I have no control over, such as the world and it's condition. Yet I have managed, whether out of sheer will power, or stubborness, to continue following my heart and mind in believing that it does not take an army to make a change, a lone voice can travel the globe.
I have 5 children, Emily 8, Amy 7, Amber 5, Elizabeth 4 and Matthew 2. They are my life. My husband, Walter, of 8 years is always there for me, or tries to be as much as he can without understanding my drive.
I am a college student who is struggling seriously with my motives. Do I want a career that I love and make very little income, or should I go for a career I enjoy with lots of money. I don't know. Still trying to figure that out.
I love people (for the most part), adopt animals, take care of what I can and do what I can.
I believe that changing the world starts in your own living room. If you don't have the drive to keep yourself motivated, no one else will be able to do it for you.
I hope that someday my children will understand the passion I feel for life, the planet and others.
